Mudhouse Pottery Studio opened its doors in March 2025 with the hopes of bringing the joy of pottery to more people in Baltimore and the surrounding areas.

Our aim is to provide a fun and creative environment for people of all skill levels to experience the joys of working with clay and creating their own pottery. We believe that the experience of making something with your own hands is truly rewarding, and we are excited to share that experience with you.

Our 2000 square feet of studio space is equipped with all of the tools and equipment needed to work with clay. We have pottery wheels, hand building tables, a slab roller, a classroom space, studio glazes and more!

Owner and Pottery Teacher
Sarah Ahart founded Mudhouse Pottery Studio in 2023 after moving to Baltimore from Western Massachusetts. While living in Massachusetts, Sarah was part of a local pottery studio, Easthampton Clay, and fell in love with the sense of community, friendship, and creativity that flowed through that studio. Being surrounded by fellow creatives who enjoy the same passion for clay is an unmatched feeling. Ever since leaving Massachusetts her goal was to create a similar space where creatives of all skill levels can work together, learn from each other and build a pottery community.
Our Mission
At Mudhouse Pottery Studio, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore their creative potential and be able to express themselves through hands on activities. Our mission is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where potters of all levels can work together and learn from each other. We are committed to creating an inspiring and supportive space that fosters creativity and encourages exploration of pottery as a form of self-expression. We strive to foster a sense of community and belonging amongst our members and students and look forward to playing with clay together!
